World Music and Flamenco Celebrate Women at Ellas Crean Festival

EventsMadrid, Spain -The 4th edition of the “Ellas Crean” festival will celebrate throughout the next weeks in Madrid the artistic achievements of women with music, dance, theater, film, poetry and contemporary art. Musicians invited include British singer Marianne Faithfull, renowned Hungarian vocalist Martá Sebestyén (who is also a member of celebrated band Muzsikás), as well as top Spanish dancers Tamara Rojo anda María Pagés (Flamenco).
 
 Flamenco will play an important role. The festival will feature La Elu, La Macanita and the Tablao del Bereber. In addition, several music clubs throughout the city will program female performers to support the event.

Organized by the Spanish government, through the Ministerio de Trabajo y Asuntos Sociales and the Instituto de la Mujer (Institute for Women's Affairs) Women's in, the Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y Cooperación and the Ministerio de Cultura-, “Ellas Crean” is meant to be a great cultural and social encounter dedicated to the thought and creativity of women, with which the spanish government show sits commitment to advance towards a more equal society.
