Germany - The international Framedrum Festival Tamburi Mundi will take place in summer this year in Freiburg (Germany) during August 7-12. This is the second edition of what has become one of the most important frame drum festivals beyond Europe.

"After the successful start last year, we want to continue that same spirit again in this year's festival," said festival founder Murat Coskun. "Five different "frame drum-cultures" will come together and Glen Velez will form a central block together with Lori Cotler again in this year's festival."

Intensive-courses, workshops and heaps of exciting frame drum concerts (with ensembles from Isfahan and Ireland) will take place again. Also big frame drum events and an exhibition for frame drums in the Ethnological Museum of Freiburg.

This year there are 3 class levels (from beginners to master classes). In addition , there are specific theme-based Intensive-courses. For this, the festival has international "Top-Guns" like Behnam Samani (Persian daf), Rhani Krija (the percussionist of Sting from Morocco), Andrea Piccioni (Italian tamburello and tammorra virtuoso ), Michael Metzler (the master for Middle Eastern and historic percussion) as well as the "bodhrán-wizard" Mel Mercier from Ireland. Theme-based workshops will be offered by very experienced teachers like Thórralf Schuh, Nora Thiele and Marika Falk.
