Jamani

Party with Jamani (2007)

Jamani is a tthirteen-year old steelpan master who grew up in a musical family. His father is the well-known Mighty Jamma, a steelpan champion in the UK. Jamani shows his expertise and eclectic musical influences in the independently-released Party with Jamani. The CD includes hip-hop, R&B, electronica and jazz influences, adding a funk feel to traditional steelpan music.

Jamani started playing at a very young age. By the time he was 3 he performed at the Jamma Caribbean Extravaganza. By the time he was four, he was teaching himself simple melodies. He is currently the lead soloist of the Birmingham School of Pan and All Nations Steelband in West Bromwich.
