New ReleasesSan Pablo (California), USA - Renowned Mexican roots band, Los Cenzontles, released this week its first all-original production, los senn-sont-less. The bilingual record includes 12 songs that were written, performed and produced in their entirety by the members of the group.

The record showcases the group’s evolution by highlighting the journeys of the band members through songs of the joys and struggles of their Mexican-American reality.

The songs freely fuses traditional Mexican instruments, such as the jarana, vihuela and quijada (jawbone) with American rock instruments, such as the electric guitars and drums – all of which create their own unique sound that they have dubbed Mexican-American roots alternative music.

Our new record represents the natural evolution of our sound,” stated Eugene Rodriguez, founder of Los Cenzontles. “We created our Mexican-American roots alternative music by fusing elements of traditional music with rock n’ roll, country, reggae, rock en español and r & b.”

Guest performers include guitarist David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, banjoist Bill Evans and Bobby Black, legendary country pedal-steel player.

Los senn-sont-less can be purchased online and at select retailers. To learn more about the group or hear songs from the record, visit www.myspace.com/themockingbirds.
