Motown Remixed, Vol. 2 (Motown, 2007)

Some of the coolest music in the late 1960s and early 1970s was released on the Motown label. The venerable R&R and Soul classics from that era get an update on Motown Remixed Vol. 2. Ten of the top Latin music studios rework the Motown songs and transform them into Latin rock, reggaetón, bachata, Latin house and other genres.

Motown Remixed, Vol. 2 . includes 11 of Motown's biggest and most popular hits.  Songs you've probably heard numerous times get the treatment: the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" becomes funky reggaetón remixed by super-producer SPK, the mastermind behind the N.O.R.E. hit "Oye Mi Canto"; while Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" is remixed by Andres Levin, the founder and producer of Yerba Buena, and Costantino "Mixmaster" Padovano, a.k.a. Funky Junction.

But there's more, you will song songs by The Temptations, Martha & The Vandellas,, Smokey Robinson (singing in Spanish), and Diana Ross.

The project is fun and refreshing, meant for dancing. I'm sure the club deejays will have fun combining originals with remixes.

Buy Motown Remixed, Vol. 2.
