On the compilation  Import Export a La Turka - Turkish Sounds From Germany (TRIKONT CD US-0373, 2007),  DJ Ipek Ipekgioglu showcases the music of the Turkish diaspora. DJ Ipek Ipekcioglu is a well known figure in Berlin’s multicultural music scene. She travels frequently, visiting clubs throughout the world. Germany has one of the largest Turkish communities in the European Union and they have made a mark in modern German music.

With vocals in German, English and Turkish, the songs on   Import Export a La Turka - Turkish Sounds From Germany show a wide variety of influences, including rock, hip hop, folk, captivating global electronica, and ska,   The artists featured are: Sender Freie Rakete ,  Fresh Familee ,  Volkanik Mlan ,  Huilya ,  Metin Candan ,  Aziza A. ,  Beser Sahin,  Stoneheads,  Aleksey feat. Ozkan,  Derya ,  Muri & Pegah Ferydoni, Karagozlum,  Nure & Nubun,  Bremen Immigrant Orchestra & Sema Mutlu,  Muhabbet, Grup Unui,  Sultan Tunc,  Spark,  and M.E.S.S. Berlin.



On Beyond Istanbul - Underground Grooves of Turkey (Trikont CD US-0355, 2006), released a year earlier by Ipekgioglu shows a portrait of the stimulating contemporary world  music that is coming out of various parts of Turkey. On this compilation she includes a cosmopolitan collection of edgy global electronica, Turkish pop, contemporary folk, reggae, hip hop, and even rock.
