Since moving west in 1980, Mollie immersed herself in a variety of creative outlets. After singing with a number of local jazz and R&B groups, Mollie formed her own band and won Westward Magazine's Best R&B Band honors in '91 and '92.
Her second solo CD was an Indie Award finalist in '92. With brother Tim O'Brien, she released three duet albums to widespread acclaim. Her first Sugar Hill solo album, Tell It True, stayed in the Top 10 of Gavin's Americana Chart for six weeks-astounding bluegrass fans and reacquainting her with R&B fans.
She's appeared at every major acoustic music festival and venue in the US and has toured the UK, Europe, and South America. This past spring Mollie wowed her indie industry peers during the INDIE Awards show at the annual meeting of the Association for Independent Music (AFIM).
