Meissa
Biography:

Born in Dakar, Meissa learnt at a very young age the art of writing and of traditional religious chants from his native country that initiated him into the love of transmitting the history of his native Senegal to its people.

Entre Seine et Sine? is a musical journey into the imagination of the poet, L?opold S?dar Senghor, where Meissa gives a heart-felt homage to the poet through his ten poem/songs. It is a tribute to one of the founders of black pride. The year 2006 marks his birth?s centenary.

Meissa sings in Wolof, Mandingo and French, and mixes the use of contemporary and traditional instruments. This imaginative combination transmits to us the subtleties of the African continent. Meissa is naturally interested in developing his career abroad, yet he admits that the most important to him is to remain present artistically in his own country.
