Biography:

Mylene blends Bossa Nova influences with indigenous Indian and African Brazilian folk styles, all in the beautifully mediated electronic panorama of a modern Brazilian sound. Playing professionally in Rio De Janeiro since 1994, this singer-songwriter brings a continually inventive freshness, broadening the Bossa Nova?s scope to include a combination of electronic programming and the distinct sounds of Brazilian percussion.

Her self-titled debut album, Mylene, brings together a very special group of musicians, ranging from her husband Fernando Nunes to Sergio Chiavassoli, Alex Veley (keyboardist for the Wayward Shamans) and many others whose work in Brazilian music has included playing with such revered figures as Gilberto Gil, Lulu Santos and the great Cassia Eller.
