Whitby has a large world music festival annually, with top world music acts. Whitby Musicport World Music Festival is held in October, at the Whitby Pavilion. The festival encompasses music and art forms from around the world. The weekend includes kite-making and flying, poetry and African mask-making and drumming workshops.
