This Web site looks different. What happened?

World Music Portal became World Music Central. We are the same people. We have improved the content, navigation and interactivity.

World Music Central uses the Geeklog CMS system to manage content. World Music Central is also now hosted at Ibiblio.org

What can I do on this Web site?

You can read lots of news and check the resources area. You can also participate by posting comments and sending us submissions. You can also take advantage of the international calendar to check upcoming events: concerts, festivals, conferences, etc.

Our new search function searches the entire Web site.

Can I buy records from your Web site?

Not directly. We do not have e-commerce, but we do have affiliate programs that will allow you to buy CDs mentioned here.

Can you book my band?

No. We are not a booking agency. We do list booking agents and recommend that you contact the ones that specialize in your genre of music.

How do I submit information?

There are several ways:

If you want to add an event to the calendar, click on the  Calendar option. You will get a menu that will be self explanatory.

If you want to submit news, reviews or articles go to Submissions.

If you are a professional world music artist, a manager, or a booking agent, we can include your artist information at World Music Central. You can either send us an attached file in Microsoft Word for Windows sent to info@worldmusiccentral.org  or you can also send us plain text in the body of the e-mail message. If you send an attachment, please write us a note in the body of your e-mail message. We receive viruses every day and we will not open any attachments that we can't identify. Photos should be sent zipped or attached in JPEG format, preferably 300 x 200 pixels, or bigger.

To be featured in the Artist biographies section, you can upload the text and photos here. Biographies are not listed automatically. An editor will review them first, before publication. Please do not use caps (capital letters). And do not send us interviews or articles published by other publications. We cannot reproduce copyrighted articles without permission.

How do I add a link?

Go to our Links section and follow the instructions. Please make sure you give us a description of your Web site. A reciprocal link would be greatly appreciated.

Links are not listed automatically. An editor will review them first, before publication.  Notice: we will not add artists, festivals, record labels or venues to the links area because they get listed in the Resources area. Artists get listed here. For venue, label and festival listings, contact us directly at info@worldmusiccentral.org.
