Artists

Way up in northern California, Mendocino County to be exact, we have several salsa bands:

Mambo This - a 10 piece band plays salsa and jazz regularly at the Caspar Community Center. Michael Hubbert, Paul Schulman, David Lipkind, Carl Schoen, Jim Dooley, Ted Kidwell, Richie Rosenbaum, and Dan Albrecht.

Pura Vida - Some Salsa, some son. Featuring Amunka Dávila and Jorge Gómez, and four or five other musicians.

Radio

Local Public Radio - KZYX FM - Mendocino Public Radio - Wednesdays, 2 to 4 p.m. - Radiorrama - Latin music show - with DJ's Jan Wax, David Lipkind, and Paul Schulman.

Schools

The Northern California Spelmanslag is a non-profit public benefit corporation which aims to promote Scandinavian music, dance and culture through special workshops, regular meetings, concerts and performances. Venues

The 200 Oak Club specializes in World Music. It  supports a non-profit public benefit association called the Center for Cultural Expression.
